Bazooka is an isometric combat game where players take control of a green soldier and fight their way through waves of enemy toys, battling through the mall in a desperate escape mission. Inspired by Wii Tanks, Helldivers, and Sarge’s Heroes, the game challenges players to complete objectives, eliminate enemies, and navigate chaotic battlefields with strategic movement and precise shooting.
I was responsible for programming the guns, projectile movement, and UI implementation. Additionally, though not officially credited, I was the main UI artist, designing and implementing HP bars, weapon icons, and other interface elements. The goal of Bazooka is to create a satisfying and immersive combat experience that rewards tactical gameplay. Players must make split-second decisions as they dodge enemy fire, manage their arsenal, and use environmental cover to survive. Progression through the mall introduces new enemy types, weapon upgrades, and increasingly intense battles, keeping the challenge fresh and engaging. To enhance the experience, the UI was carefully designed to be both functional and visually appealing, ensuring players have all the necessary information without cluttering the screen. The gunplay and projectile mechanics were fine-tuned to feel responsive and impactful, providing a gameplay loop that is both accessible and rewarding. This project showcases my ability to develop real-time action mechanics, optimize physics-based interactions, and create intuitive UI/UX elements. Balancing fun, challenge, and performance required iterative testing and refinement to deliver a polished and dynamic gameplay experience. Download Here: theknechtion.itch.io/bazooka |
