After the initial concept was created, all of the ideas and themes that are to be explored through the game were compiled and iterated into this final Figma document.

This document includes key gameplay components, important characters and plot points, basic UI outlines, a control scheme, a section to capture theme, and a detailed first-level overview.

Genre: Third-Person Collect-Customize-Battle

Platform: PC/Switch/Mobile

Summary: A siren blares as the ceiling splits open above you, blinding white light attacks your vision. The heavy clacking of metal-on-metal surrounds you as the platform rises. Slowly, it gives way to shouting. “RFT! RFT!”. The crowd roars as you appear on the battlefield, the plucky little upstart, G1MBLE. Little more than a gyroscope controlled by an AI, it has what some say are impossible aims for the title of Champion of the Robot Fighting League. Your foe looms above you, and the bell rings.

Key Game Features
Collect-Customize-Battle: Collecting compatible equipment and scraps left over from their victories, players will upgrade themselves from a simple G1-MBL robot into a machine poised to dominate the Robot Fighting League.

Target Lock-On: Use your advanced AI HUD to lock-on to enemy units. Prevents you from losing track of your target in the chaos of battle.

Make Em’ Into Scrap: To match the story and aesthetic, the currency used to buy upgrades and level up will be scrap metal. You get it by collecting what is left your rivals.

Stabilized Turbo Assault Boosts (S.T.A.B): Players will unlock new actions for their robot in the form of these S.T.A.B upgrades. Each S.T.A.B will give the player a unique ability that can drastically change their playstyle. Use multiple together for interesting synergy effects. Taking advantage of the technology in with Switch’s motion controllers and the iPhone’s motion sensor, activating these S.T.A.B with a shake of the device could create a more interactive experience. Examples:
  • N0-P3 — The very basic S.T.A.B in the game. Use it while strafing or moving away from your enemy to activate a dodge boost. Use it while moving at them to deal a crushing blow. Bounce off them on a successful strike to line up for a combo. Charge up the ability for greater distance and damage.
  • N0-V4 — A slightly shorter dodge than the N0-P3, this converts some kinetic energy into fire. Leave a short-lived trail of flame in your wake and collide with firey results.
  • JU-MP — A chip that allows you to nimbly tilt your boost rockets, allowing for an arced jump through the air on activation.

Fully Assimilate your S.T.A.B: Even though you have this new S.T.A.B unlocked; it has not yet been fully integrated into your system. By using it in combat and by feeding it scraps, you can gradually unlock new abilities and bonuses associated with the chip. When you fully upgrade the chip, the ability should be given more aesthetically flashy designs and animations.
  • N0-P3-RS — Once fully upgraded, the NO-P3 ability will allow you to release a sonic boom that lightly damages enemy bots in your wake.
  • N0-VA+ — Converts even more kinetic energy into explosive power. Crash into your enemy to release a powerful blast.
  • JU-N0 — Fully integrating your JU-MP chip will allow you to chain the JU-MP and JU-N0 ability. Leap into an arc mid-air, then slam down when you chose to deal damage to anything beneath you.

Upgrade Your Bot: By swapping out internal components, the player can balance their stats. In the later game to tie into the story of the player moving up in the world of Robot Fighting, the player can be approached by the company that runs the Robot Fighting League to try out experimentalupgrades with unique, mainly passive abilities and extreme stat changes. By allowing for drastic changes to passive abilities, stats, and active abilities, it will create an environment for emergency gameplay.
  • Hull armor — Either go light and flimsy, or slow and tanky. The heavier you are, the more power it is to S.T.A.B.
  • Memory — the more memory you have, the more S.T.A.B you can have installed at one time. The more you have memorized, the more it saps your maximum total power.
  • Speed — This is how fast you robot moves. It is mainly affected by hull armor and installed thrusters.
  • Power — Tied into every other system. This is what allows your robot to activate its S.T.A.B. The more power other systems require, the smaller your Power Meter will be at the start of the fight.
